Hyderabad: In a powerful display of unity and dissent against the ruling BJP government, hundreds of workers, led by CITU Hyderabad South District Committee, took to the streets in a procession today, marking the eve of the All-India Workers’ Strike.
The rally, commencing from I.S. Sadan X Roads in Santhosh Nagar, culminated at Owaisi Hospital Chowrasta, resonating with slogans denouncing the central BJP government and showcasing unwavering solidarity among the workers.
Addressing the fervent crowd at Owaisi Hospital Chowrasta, MD Abbas, a state secretariat member of CPIM, warned of dire consequences if the Modi-led government returns to power in the next Lok Sabha elections.
He emphasized the looming threat of a collapse in the constitutional fabric, alleging that the BJP has failed to fulfill its promises to the common man.
Notably, the unmet assurances include the much-touted pledge of depositing ₹15 lakhs into bank accounts, doubling farmers’ incomes, and ensuring minimum support prices for crops, all of which remain unimplemented.
“Workers must remain vigilant against the deceit propagated by the BJP and RSS,” Abbas declared, urging the masses to discern the misleading narratives of the ruling regime. His sentiments were echoed by other leaders present, including CITU Hyderabad South District President and Secretary, M. Meena and M. Shravan Kumar, along with a host of district leaders and representatives from various worker unions and organizations.
The rally saw enthusiastic participation from diverse sectors, including asha workers, auto drivers, hamali, BCW (Backward Class Welfare), and swach auto workers, who joined in chorus demanding the removal of the Modi government and advocating for global workers’ solidarity.
The event underscored growing discontentment with the BJP-led administration’s policies, particularly its alleged neglect of workers’ welfare and its failure to honor electoral promises. As the momentum of dissent builds, such demonstrations serve as a stark reminder to those in power of the electorate’s demands and the imperative of accountable governance.
