Maulana Syed Abdul Basit Anwar ex-Ameer JIH passes away


Hyderabad: Maulana Syed Abdul Basit Anwar, the former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind United Andhra Pradesh, passed away at the age of 73 after a brief illness on August 17th, 2023.

He breathed his last at a private hospital in Hyderabad during treatment. Maulana Syed Abdul Basit Anwar was a dedicated member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind throughout his life, having held various significant positions within the organization.

He was known for his involvement in the early youth organization of Tehreek-e-Islami, where he served as the state president of SIO. His commitment to the cause remained unwavering, and he continued to serve Tehreek-e-Islami until his final days.

The funeral prayer for Maulana Syed Abdul Basit Anwar will be conducted on August 17th, following the Zuhr prayer at Jamia Masjid Dar Al-Shifa, Hyderabad. The burial will take place at Sultan Shahi graveyard adjacent to Mir ka Daera.

Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mubashir Al-Zafar, along with other Jamaat officials, expressed their deep sorrow and condolences to the family.
