Met issues ‘Red Alert’ for 9 districts in Telangana for next 24 hrs, forecast extremely heavy rains

In a special weather report issued a short while ago, Met, while issuing an 'orange alert' for 11 districts in the state said, Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places.

Hyderabad: Meteorological Centre here has sounded a ‘red alert’ for nine districts in Telangana for the next 24 hours forecasting heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall.
Heavy to Very Heavy with Extremely Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal (Rural) and Warangal (Urban) districts.
In a special weather report issued a short while ago, Met, while issuing an ‘orange alert’ for 11 districts in the state said, Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri districts during the same period.
It said heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Telangana.
The cyclonic circulation over northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha north Andhra Pradesh Coasts extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists.
The monsoon trough now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Jabalpur, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, and cyclonic circulation over northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and thence eastwards tomEastcentral Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.
The east-west shear zone between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level across North Peninsular India roughly along 19°N tilting southwards with height persists.
Navipet in Nizamabad district received extremely heavy rainfall of 23 CM during the last 24 hours.
Bheemgal (dist Nizamabad) received 16 CM, Armur (dist Nizamabad) 16, Dich Palle (dist Nizamabad) 15, Nandipet (dist Nizamabad) 15, Kammar Palle (dist Nizamabad) 13, Armoor (arg) (dist Nizamabad) 13, Makloor (dist Nizamabad) 12, Chandurthi (dist Rajanna Sircilla) 11, Balkonda (dist Nizamabad) 11, Ranjal (dist Nizamabad) 11, Chennaraopet (dist Warangal_rural) 10, Mortad (dist Nizamabad) 10, Jakranpalle (dist Nizamabad) 10 and Velpur (dist Nizamabad) 10.
