No more special terminal facility to Hajj pilgrims at Hyderabad airport

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has decided not to proceed with its plans for a dedicated terminal for Haj pilgrims. Last year, the airport was unable to offer this special facility due to ongoing expansion work.

This year, contrary to tradition, the pilgrims will depart from the International Terminal alongside other international passengers. The airport administration has explained that instead of a separate terminal, arrangements have been made to accommodate the pilgrims within the international passenger area, while providing them with a separate enclosure and aerobridge facility.

This decision aims to improve the efficiency of departure procedures and ensure a more unified experience for all passengers. The departure of Hajj pilgrims from Hyderabad Embarkation Point will begin on June 7, with around 5,200 pilgrims departing until June 22. These pilgrims will travel from Hyderabad to Jeddah, and their return is scheduled between July 15 and July 30.
