One of the longest skywalks in the country inaugurated today in Hyderabad

The newly constructed skywalk at Uppal Junction in Hyderabad was inaugurated by Tarak Rama Rao, the Minister of Municipal Planning and Development in Telangana. This remarkable project, undertaken by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at a cost of 36.5 million, is now one of the longest skywalks in the country.

The primary objective of this project is to enhance pedestrian convenience at the busy Uppal Junction in Hyderabad. The skywalk spans a length of 665 meters, with a width of 4 meters and a height of 6 meters. It connects to the nearby bus stop and metro station, featuring eight lifts, four escalators, and six sets of stairs.

Minister Tarak Rama Rao, along with MLA Challa Reddy and other dignitaries, inaugurated the aesthetically designed Skywalk at Uppal Junction. This project, undertaken by HMDA, connects six different locations around the junction and the Metro Station. It includes six hop-on stations equipped with staircases and elevators. The introduction of this facility significantly improves pedestrian movement across the bustling Uppal junction. Following the inauguration, Minister KTR addressed a public meeting.

In addition to the Uppal Skywalk, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister, KT Rama Rao, also inaugurated a Convention Hall within the Mini Shilparamam premises in Uppal. This hall, constructed by HMDA at a cost of Rs 10 crore, offers a seating capacity for approximately 1,000 individuals, providing ample space for various events. After the inauguration of both the Skywalk and Convention Hall, Minister Rama Rao addressed a public meeting at Uppal Municipal Ground.

The Uppal Skywalk and the Convention Hall are exceptional examples of the Telangana Government’s commitment to reinventing urban infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.
