Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Three Buildings of MANUU via Video Conference
In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three key buildings of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today via video conference. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, where the Prime Minister addressed a large gathering.

The newly inaugurated buildings include the School of Commerce & Business Management and the Engineering Workshop in Hyderabad, along with the Polytechnic Building in Cuttack, Odisha. The MANUU Hyderabad campus has invested Rs. 11.19 crores in the two-storied Commerce and Business Management building, and Rs. 25 crores in the three-storied Engineering Workshop building. Additionally, the Polytechnic building in Cuttack, Odisha, was constructed at a cost of Rs. 28.22 crores.
In attendance at the video conferencing event were Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, along with Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, and other dignitaries including Deans, Professors, and Heads of various Departments at the IMC Preview Theater, MANUU. Following the virtual inauguration, Prof. Ainul Hasan unveiled the foundation stone plaques installed on the newly inaugurated buildings at the Hyderabad campus.
Earlier in the day, during a program in Jammu, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated several projects collectively worth over Rs 13,000 crores. These projects include 12 Central Universities, 10 IIITs, 3 IIMs, 25 Kendraya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya, and Skilling Institutes at 83 locations across the country. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, was also present at the event.
Expressing his delight, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan highlighted the significant support extended by the central government, amounting to approximately 65 crores, for the construction of crucial infrastructure. He expressed optimism that with this new infrastructure, the university would scale new heights in education and research.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished faculty members including Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood, Prof. Abdul Wahid, Prof. Badiuddin Ahmed, Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Prof. Saneem Fatima, Prof. Razaullah Khan, Prof. Najamul Hasan, Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Prof. Aziz Bano, Prof. M. Vanja, Prof. Mohammad Khalid Mubashir-uz-Zafar, Mr. Rizwan Ahamd, Dr. Akhtar Pervez, and Dr. Mohd Yousuf Khan, who graced the occasion at the IMC preview theatre.
This inauguration marks a significant milestone in the journey of MANUU towards excellence in education and research, furthering its mission to provide quality education in the Urdu language and beyond.
