Hyderabad: BRS party working president KTR today alleged that the state government was obstructing the development of state capital Hyderabad. He made these remarks at a meeting of the party leaders and corporators from GHMC limits.
Former ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mahmood Ali and party MLAs also attended the meeting held at Telangana Bhavan in the city speaking on the occasion, he said that the 60-day Congress party’s administration was in a mess.
He said that The Congress party had allocated only Rs 57,000 crore in the budget for implementation of 420 promises made including 13 of the 6 guarantees given by the party.
He said that the amount to be paid to women who have applied for the Mahalaxmi scheme would be over Rs 50,000 crore and added that the budget did not say from where the funds would be brought for the implementation of schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Aasara and Loan Waiver.
KTR said that the cancellation of large projects such as pharma city and metro expansion were also likely to hurt the development of the state.
“If development is affected, there is a risk of revenue falling for the state. Without focusing on the implementation of development and welfare programmes, people do not believe in attention diversion efforts that merely mislead people for a long time,” he said.
He praised that party leaders worked with commitment for the party despite not getting a chance as MLAs for political reasons. “It is because of the efforts of every single corporator and party rank and file that the BRS party has been able to make a clean sweep in Hyderabad city today.
Every day in the last ten years, party corporators have stood up to the people and ensured that development and welfare programmes were implemented. The state government is trying to obstruct the development of the city with political vendetta. The GHMC governing body is facing difficulties in discharging the responsibilities.
The Congress party, which claims to be people’s rule, will stop the GHMC general body meeting from taking place and the standing council elections. It should be remembered that the GHMC is the local government formed as part of the five-tier administrative system established by the Constitution,” he said.
He said that the party Corporators elected by the GHMC governing council, and the people should make use of the officials they have.
Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that it was impossible for the state government to implement the promises made by the Congress party. He asked the party leaders to work with the people in their respective divisions irrespective of power.
“In the last ten years, the BRS party led Telangana government has developed the city wonderfully. It had provided development and welfare schemes to the people in all sectors.
There is already public discontent over the Congress party’s rule. Along with the party corporators, the entire party stands along the GHMC party ranks,” he said.
