A recent video has surfaced showing a courageous yet risky act by a girl in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region. It all began after her parents scolded her for using a mobile phone. Undeterred, the girl took a daring leap from a staggering 90-foot height into the magnificent Chitrakote Waterfalls. Astonishingly, she survived the plunge and emerged safely just a few meters away from the waterfall’s powerful current. The incident occurred in the Chitrakoot Chowki area on a Tuesday evening.
Upon reaching the waterfalls, the girl seemed disoriented, wandering aimlessly for a while. Eventually, she found herself at the edge of the waterfall, attracting the attention of some onlookers. Concerned individuals tried to dissuade her from jumping, urging her to reconsider such a hasty decision, but unfortunately, she didn’t heed their warnings.
A few youths present at the scene recorded the entire episode using their mobile phones, and the video quickly made its way to social media platforms.
The clip captures the girl hesitating for a few seconds at the waterfall’s edge before bravely leaping into the cascading water below. The camera angle showcases the impressive height of the Chitrakote Waterfall, a breathtaking natural wonder located 38 km from Jagdalpur in Bastar, alongside the river Indravati. The locals fondly refer to it as the “mini Niagara Falls.” Remarkably, the girl managed to stay afloat in the water after her daring jump. During the monsoon season, the waterfall spans about 300 meters wide, making it even more awe-inspiring.
It was later revealed that the girl resides nearby. Following the incident, the police launched an investigation and discovered that the extreme step she took was in response to being scolded by her parents for using the mobile phone excessively. Eventually, she was handed back to her family’s care.
