SCR GM reviews monsoon preparedness & safety of train operations in Hyderabad

Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions — Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.
The General Manager reviewed the Monsoon preparedness across the Zone, in view of
the monsoon rains.
He reviewed the stock of monsoon reserve position like boulders, sand bags, RH Girders.
Further, monsoon patrolling has been deployed at 42 block sections, while stationary Watchmen have been deployed across 108 identified locations.
Close watch is being kept across the Railway Affected Tanks, for monitoring the rising water levels. Close Liaison is being maintained with local irrigation authorities regarding railway affected tanks and discharge of water from major dams / reservoirs, a SCR release here said.
Jain emphasized on educating and sensitizing the safety category staff and strengthening patrolling at all identified vulnerable sections such as tracks, bridges and locations with heavy rainfall to prevent unsafe conditions.
He also informed the concerned officials to ensure cleaning and maintenance of side water drains, catch water drains and waterways to avoid flooding of tracks and ensure smooth running of trains.
The SCR GM instructed the divisions to ensure the availability and proper working condition of all the safety equipment in trains.
He instructed the officers and supervisors to constantly monitor the field level activity and stated that any discrepancy noticed should be attended and rectified at the earliest.
Jain also elaborately reviewed on the safety drive being undertaken by the zone involving various departments such as Electrical, Mechanical, Signal & Telecommunications, Operating and Engineering.
He advised the officials and staff to strictly adhere to the rules pertaining to working condition of all assets, proper maintenance of registers pertaining to train operations and undertake all necessary monsoon precautionary measures.
Later, the General Manager was detailed on Rail Madad app which is part of the Railway Passenger Grievance Redressal of the Railways.
He advised the officials to redress the passenger complaints / feedback in real time so as to ensure passengers do not face any inconvenience during their journey.
