Hyderabad: Last night, Hyderabad experienced severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain.
Over the past 24 hours, some areas in the city reported rainfall exceeding 70 mm.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society, the highest rainfall in the city was recorded in the suburban area of Kapra, with 72.8 mm.
Cheryalapalli and Kushaiguda received 71.9 mm and 54.5 mm of rain, respectively. Neredmet recorded 53.8 mm, while Safilguda saw 50.8 mm of rainfall.
Several areas in the Secunderabad and Gajularamaram constituencies also experienced heavy rain. The downpour disrupted power supply in many neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has forecasted continuous rain in Hyderabad for the next two days.
