Siddipet, Gajwel, Hyderabad South topped in non-payment of electricity bills: CM Revanth
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has informed that Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South areas are in top three positions in the non-payment of electricity dues in the Telangana State.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has informed that Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South areas are in top three positions in the non-payment of electricity dues in the Telangana State.
Intervening in a discussion on power sector in the Assembly on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that Siddipet stood first with 61.37 per cent dues followed by Gajwel (50.29 percent) and Hyderabad South was in third position with 43 percent dues.
He suggested that BRS MLAs Harish Rao and K Chandrashekar Rao and AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi should take the responsibility of paying the dues in Siddipet, Gajwel and Hyderabad South respectively.
Revanth Reddy ridiculed the statement of former minister and BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy who said there were no power cuts in Telangana during the BRS regime and no farmer staged dharna for power.
“Everyone knew that farmers had staged a protest and laid siege to the Electric Sub Station in Kamareddy on September 1. Farmers from Nereducharla in Suryapet district took to the streets during the BRS rule. A farmer named Komurayya committed suicide due to lack of power supply and the damage of crops in the BRS rule. Srisailam hydel power generation tunnel exploded, and nine persons were killed due to the government’s negligence. The Congress party supported the family of Fatima who died in the accident. The then chief minister and energy minister did not visit those affected families,” he reminded.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the AIMIM party did not even mention the misdeeds of the BRS government in the Assembly.
“Akbaruddin is trying his best to save his old friend. Friendship with such people is not good for MIM. No need to suspect the sincerity of the Congress in the matter of minorities. Everyone is aware of who was friendly with whom from NTR’s regime to CM KCR’s rule,” Revanth Reddy added.
