St. Francis College Triumphs in Osmania University Inter-Collegiate Tennis (Women) Tournament

Hyderabad: In a thrilling display of tennis prowess, St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, emerged victorious in the Osmania University Inter-Collegiate Tennis (Women) Tournament, held at Bhavan’s College Sainikpuri from November 2nd to November 5th, 2023.
The tournament, which took place from Thursday to Sunday, witnessed fierce competition among top colleges in the region.
The finals of the tournament saw St. Francis College for Women go head to head against St. Ann’s College, Mehdipatnam. St. Francis College managed to secure a hard-fought victory with a final score of 2-1, claiming the prestigious title.

1st Singles:
Pavani Pathak of St. Francis College defeated Sameskha of St. Ann’s College with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
2nd Singles:
Ashrita of St. Francis College lost to Yesaswi of St. Ann’s College with a score of 2-6, 3-6.
In the semi-finals, St. Francis College for Women had a strong showing against Villa Marie College. The results of the semi-finals were as follows:
1st Semi-Finals:
St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, beat Villa Marie College with a score of 2-0.
Pavani Pathak of St. Francis defeated Hannah of Villa Marie College with a commanding score of 6-0, 6-0.
In another singles match, Ashrita of St. Francis College lost to Sanjana Sirimalla of Villa Marie College with a score of 0-6, 0-6.
The doubles match featured Pavani Pathak and Ashrita of St. Francis College, who triumphed over Sanjana Sirimalla and Hannah of Villa Marie with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
