Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hosted a Dawat-e-Iftar at the sprawling Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Friday evening.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikaramarka, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Government Advisor Shabbir Ali, senior Congress leaders, and prominent Muslim leaders.
Addressing the gathering, CM Revanth Reddy extended warm Ramadan greetings to his Muslim brothers and sisters.
He reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to the development and welfare of Muslim and Christian minorities in the state. He highlighted the party’s role in implementing 4 per cent reservation for Muslims during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure.
In response to concerns raised about the potential cancellation of this reservation by PM Modi and Amit Shah, CM Revanth Reddy assured that the government would uphold and protect the rights of minority communities.
He emphasized the government’s efforts in allocating funds for minority schools and residential buildings, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to providing equal opportunities and representation to Muslim minorities across various sectors.
