Telangana government to give Rs. 1 lakh to 40 thousand Muslims

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has made a decision to offer a financial aid of Rs. 1 lakh to 40 thousand Muslims residing in the state. Following a meeting led by Finance Minister Harish Rao and other ministers in response to a request from Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, the floor leader of the Majlis, the Finance Minister revealed an additional fund allocation of 130 crore rupees for this initiative.

Originally earmarked with 270 crore rupees, the total funding for this program has now increased to 400 crore rupees, enabling 40 thousand individuals to receive a financial grant of 1 lakh rupees each.

It was also mentioned that the financial assistance will be disbursed in four phases, with 10 thousand individuals receiving 1 lakh rupees each during each phase. The distribution of checks to the first batch of 10,000 beneficiaries is scheduled to begin on August 16.

The granted amount will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the recipients, eliminating the need for repayment. Furthermore, the scheme will be implemented proportionally based on the Muslim population in each assembly constituency.
