Hyderabad: Telangana government on Saturday appointed former Minister G Chinnareddy as the Vice Chairman of the Telangana Planning Commission, with Cabinet status.
Chinnareddy, a three-time MLA from Wanaparthy Constituency, has a long political history. In the recent Assembly elections, the Congress party initially announced his candidacy but later replaced him with Megha Reddy, who secured a significant victory over Niranjan Reddy (BRS).
Having won the Vanaparthi seat in 1989, 1999, and 2014, Chinnareddy’s political journey saw him serve as the Rural Development Minister in the YSR Cabinet.
Despite his defeat in the 2009 and 2018 elections, Chinnareddy has now been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Telangana Planning Commission, with Cabinet rank.
Chinnareddy’s political career, spanning over four decades, reflects his resilience and commitment to public service.
