Telangana government has transferred State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director N.Sridhar and has given full additional charge of the CMD to N.Balaram, Director (Finance and PA and W), SCCL.
Hyderabad: Telangana government has transferred State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director N.Sridhar and has given full additional charge of the CMD to N.Balaram, Director (Finance and PA and W), SCCL.
N Sridhar, whose tenure ended on December 31, 2023, has not been given an extension by the governmnt and has been asked to report to the General Administration Department (GAD), state Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari said in a Government Order (GO) released two days back.
N Balaram, Director (Finance and PA and W), SCCL is placed in full additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL, until further orders, the GO said.
A 1997-batch Telangana cadre IAS officer, Sridhar was appointed as CMD of SCCL in January 2015 and has been holding the same post since then.
The SCCL is a Government coal mining company jointly owned by the Government of Telangana and Government of India on a 51:49 equity basis.
The Singareni coal reserves stretch across 350 Km of the Pranahita – Godavari Valley of Telangana with proven geological reserves aggregating to a whopping 8791 million tonnes.
SCCL is currently operating 18 opencast and 24 underground mines in 4 districts of Telangana with a manpower of around 42,733.
