Telangana Polls: Harish Rao terms Congress manifesto as 420

Hyderabad: Minister T Harish Rao has termed the Congress party’s manifesto as 420 Manifesto.
Responding to the Congress party’s Telangana State unit manifesto released by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikharjuna Kharge in Hyderabad, Harish Rao said that it was not a 42 page of manifesto, was 420 Manifesto.
Addressing the party meeting at Gajwel in Siddipet district on Friday, Harish Rao stated that the promises which were mentioned in the manifesto were not viable for the implementation, but the guarantees were given by Congress aimed at coming to power by cheating the people.
“Congress has no credibility. It has failed to implement its promises in Karnataka and people of Karnataka are getting regret over being elected the Congress government. There is power crisis in Karnataka and farmers are not getting more than three hours,” he pointed out.
Earlier, addressing the media conference at Telangana Bhavan here, Harish Rao accused the Congress party of causing the deaths of the Telangana youths for the sake of statehood.
He found fault with the statement of former union minister and Congress senior leader P Chidambaram, who expressed regret over the deaths of Telangana martyrs during the Telangana statehood movement, and said that Chidambaram had proved to be no less than General Dyer, the man responsible for the infamous Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
“The delay has cost several lives and Chidambaram has sought to absolve himself of the responsibility for the deaths of the martyrs by extending just an apology. It is similar to the awkward American gesture of tendering an apology to Japan after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for killing thousands,” Harish Rao pointed out.
He reminded that on December 9, 2009, the Congress-led union government announced the start of the process of forming a separate Telangana state, but it did not materialise till June 2014.
