The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds up to 50 kmph in Telangana for the next three days, while heat wave conditions may continue in northern and eastern districts.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted a change in weather conditions across Telangana over the next three days. According to the weather department, thunderstorms, lightning, light to moderate rain, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely in several districts. At the same time, heat wave conditions are also expected to continue in some northern and eastern districts of Telangana.

Weather Conditions Changing Across Telangana

The climatic conditions in Telangana are gradually changing, with intense sunshine continuing in some areas while the southwest monsoon is advancing steadily.

According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are likely to affect several parts of the state during the next three days.

The Meteorological Department stated that the southwest monsoon has advanced into some more parts of the southeast Arabian Sea, Comorin area, and southwest Bay regions.

The department also said that conditions are becoming favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, and more areas of the east-central Bay of Bengal.

North-South Trough Affecting Telangana Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, a north-south trough currently extends from adjoining areas of south Bihar to north coastal Andhra Pradesh through Jharkhand and Odisha.

The trough extends up to nearly 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Officials said this weather system is causing the ongoing changes in Telangana’s weather conditions.

Telangana Weather Forecast for Three Days

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain at isolated places in several districts of Telangana on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Thunderstorms and lightning are especially likely during evening and night hours.

The department also predicted gusty winds with speeds ranging from 40 kmph to 50 kmph.

Though rainfall may temporarily reduce temperatures in some areas, the IMD stated that the maximum temperatures across Telangana are expected to remain at current levels.

Heat Wave Warning Issued for Northern and Eastern Districts

Despite the rain forecast, the Meteorological Department warned that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in some northern and eastern districts of Telangana.

People have been advised to remain alert as the afternoon heat intensity is expected to remain high.

Advisory Issued to Public During Thunderstorms and Heat

The Meteorological Department advised people not to stand under trees during thunder and lightning activity.

People were also advised not to go outside unless necessary during periods of strong winds.

Officials warned residents to avoid roaming under the sun for long hours during afternoons.

The department also advised people to drink enough water and keep their bodies cool.

Meteorologists said the intensity of rainfall in Telangana is expected to increase further in the coming days as the southwest monsoon advances.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph across Telangana for the next three days. While rainfall activity is expected in several districts, heat wave conditions are also likely to continue in northern and eastern districts. The IMD has advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms, strong winds, and extreme afternoon heat as weather conditions continue to change across the state.
