Three more succumb to injuries in Hyderabad fire accident

Three persons, who were injured in a fire triggered by LPG cylinder leakage at a house three days ago in Hyderabad, succumbed at a hospital on Friday.

With this the death toll in the incident has gone up to four.

Seven members of a family were injured in the fire triggered by the gas leak at their house at Valmikinagar in Domalguda on July 11.

Eleven-year-old B. Sharanya succumbed on July 12 at government-run Gandhi Hospital.

Padma (55), her daughter Dhanalakshmi (30), grandson Avi (7) succumbed to their injuries on Friday. Sharanya was also the granddaughter of Padma.

Padma’s sister Nagamani (50), son-in-law Anand (34) and grandson (4) were undergoing treatment and their condition was stated to be critical.

According to police, the incident occurred when Padama and Nagamani went to the stove to switch it on. They did not notice the gas leak. As they switched the stove on, the leaked gas caught fire and spread rapidly in their one-room tenement.
