Transport dept digitizes all services

According to officials, a total of 59 citizen services are made online with a provision to make online payment and slot system is followed for all services.

Hyderabad: In a bid to improve citizen services in the transport department, the State government has computerized all the services.


According to officials, a total of 59 citizen services are made online with a provision to make online payment and slot system is followed for all services. On an average, about 33,000 transactions take place every day in the transport offices across the State.


The Transport department plays a key role in issuing driving licences, registration of vehicles, issue of permits, collection of tax, enforcement of vehicle violations and promotion of road safety.
The total vehicle strength in Telangana as on July 21 is around 1.47 crores and the revenue collected this year so far is Rs.1615 crore where as last year it was Rs.868 Crore only.


The department collects revenues from issue of driving licenses, registration of motor vehicles, permits and taxes.


Thanks to the technology, the computerization has enabled faster access, greater transparency and accountability in the department.


To further increase the transparency in service delivery, officials have decided to increase the online services and launched a project called Anywhere Anytime Online Service in the department where in the citizens who want to avail certain RTA Services need not visit RTO office.


Further, RTA application has been integrated with T-App folio which is a mobile app developed by the Telangana government for citizen services. Artificial Intelligence based Liveness detection to check whether the photo received through the smart phone is that of a real person and not a photo of a Photo.
Machine Learning based entity Resolution to check the demographic attributes like name, fathers name, date of birth and address. Deep Learning based Photograph comparison to compare the two photographs.


The Project was launched and made operational in a phased manner and so far 1,13,115 transactions have been recorded under Anywhere Anytime online services.
