TRS Corporator Vijaya Reddy joins Congress
Launching a veiled attack on the TRS party leadership, she alleged that the welfare of the people was kept on back burner.
Hyderabad: The ruling TRS party Corporator from Khairatabad division Vijaya Reddy today joined Congress party. TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy welcomed her into the party fold.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijaya Reddy said she would be indebted to Khairatabad constituency people forever. She said she didn’t take the decision to change the party in one day and added that she took the decision after observing several developments in the State.
She said the recent criminal incidents against women in the city had pained her a lot and added that the crimes against the women were still going on despite the presence of SHE Teams. She said the people in the State were waiting for ration cards and pensions.
Launching a veiled attack on the TRS party leadership, she alleged that the welfare of the people was kept on back burner.
She said only the Congress party and its president Sonia Gandhi would do justice to the poor people in the State. She also said she had joined the Congress party to work under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
Revanth Reddy said the daughter of famous Congress leader PJR was returning to the party-fold. He said the name of PJR was synonymous with the Congress party and PJR was considered as God by the residents of Basthis of the State capital.
He reminded that PJR stood by those who migrated to the city from different parts of the undivided Andhra Pradesh State. He said PJR fought for the poor till his last breath and added that he went on to become CLP leader.
He also recalled that PJR fought for Krishna river water. He said the family of PJR also had an in-depth relationship with the Congress party.
Revanth Reddy said the party would stand by PJR’s family. He said Vijaya Reddy would fight on behalf of the Congress party and added that PJR and former MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav families would take up the responsibility of transforming Hyderabad into a great city.
