Two dacoits killed, three cops injured in Bihar

Two dacoits were killed and three police personnel injured during an encounter in Bihar’s East Champaran district.

 Patna: Two dacoits were killed, and three police personnel injured during an encounter in Bihar’s East Champaran district.

 Acting on a tip-off that some dacoits are assembling in Purhania village on Sunday, a large number of police forces headed by district SP reached the place and surrounded them.

As the police team asked them to surrender, the dacoits attacked them with bomb in which three policemen sustained splinter injuries.

In retaliation, the police opened fire on them, killing two dacoits on the spot.

The others dacoits managed to flee to adjoining Nepal.

The injured cops were admitted to Sadar hospital, Motihari and their condition is stated to be stable.

The district police recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from the spot.
