The ISI-backed Dawood is the mastermind of the March 12, 1993, serial blasts, which claimed 257 lives, injured 713 others, and damaged property to the tune of several crores.
The Mumbai Police were trying to gain more information on the hospitalisation of the underworld don from his relatives.
The Indian authorities are looking for Dawood.
He is based in Karachi and often shuttles to the Gulf.
The shroud of secrecy surrounding his health has raised questions and heightened intrigue about the circumstances leading to his current condition.
