Hyderabad: AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today entered into a war of words during a short discussion on the white paper released by the state government on the status of electricity in Telangana.

He lashed out at the previous BRS government. Similarly, CM Revanth gave a strong counter to MIM MLA Akbaruddin. CM Revanth said in the assembly that The BRS and the MIM parties had been together for the last 10 years in the state .

“The AIMIM party had a role to play in the issues raised by Akbaruddin Owaisi. The MIM had worked in support of the BRS party in the recent assembly elections.”

“The MIM worked against the Congress party candidate Azharuddin in Jubilee Hills assembly constituency and Shabbir Ali in Kamareddy and Nizamabad Urban assembly constituencies.”

“It is not right for the MIM to insult a Dalit MLA like Kavvampally. Akbaruddin is the only an MLA of the AIMIM. He is not the leader of all Muslims,” the CM said.

He reiterated that both BRS and MIM parties were friends.

“We will congratulate Akbaruddin if all the issues are placed before the House. KCR said that the BRS and the Majlis are friends. KCR may be an ally of MIM. The MIM party can also support PM Modi.”

“It’s up to them. We have no problem no matter how long Akbaruddin speaks. There is no difference between old city and new city for us. Akbaruddin is a six-time MLA.”

“Considering his experience, we have selected him as pro-tem speaker. Akbar is saying everything. Srisailam left canal tunnel exploded killing nine people. AE Fathima died in the incident. If Fathima died, why didn’t MIM speak? It was the Congress party that made minorities chief ministers and presidents,” he said.

On the other hand, CM Revanth spoke on the issue of electricity. He said that the assembly constituencies represented by former CM KCR Gajwel and former finance minister Harish Rao Siddipet and Hyderabad south was the top of the list of the electricity arrears.

“KCR, Harish Rao and Akbaruddin Owaisi should take up the responsibility and ensure the clearance of the dues,” he said.

Responding to the comments of the CM, Akbaruddin said that the Congress was trying to suppress them. “We are not afraid of anyone. We were not afraid of Former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who put me in jail,” he said.

He questioned whether MIM party contested in Nizamabad to defeat Shabbir Ali. “Our party president takes a decision on when and how the MIM party will contest anywhere. We are called the ‘B’ team of the BJP. We will not work with the BJP as long as we are alive,” he said.

He dared CM to hold a discussion on the alliances of his party with different parties of the state beginning from the period of former CM of undivided AP Nadendla Bhaskar Rao.

As Akbaruddin was speaking, there was chaos. The MIM MLAs rushed into the Well of the Speaker and demanded him to allow Akbaruddin Owaisi to speak.

Later, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that Akbaruddin was speaking as he pleased. “It is not right to speak against the leader of the House as he pleases. Don’t speak without listening to what I’m saying. If new people say anything, you have to understand it with a big heart. It is not right to talk about the leader of the house in an insulting manner,” he said
