World Sickle cell anaemia Day observed at MANUU

Hyderabad: The Zoology Section of School of Sciences, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) yesterday conducted World Sickle Cell Awareness Day – 2023.
Dr. P. Rajesh, Head, health initiative from nirman.org and K. Shailesh Babu from KVR foundation working on the cause of steps towards anemia free society delivered lectures. They spoke about the importance of screening programmes for anemia in high risk populations.
Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean, School of Technology, Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan, Dean, School of Sciences were present. Prof. Parveen Jahan, Head Zoology and organizing secretary also addressed.
The students were encouraged for their participation by giving best oral and poster presentation awards. Later, nirman.org, sponsored anemia screening was done for the participating students, Research scholars and faculty.
