KTR Issues Stern Warning: ‘No Real Estate on Industrial Land’ as BRS Slams Telangana Land Policy

KTR warns that industrial land in Telangana will not be allowed for real estate or non-industrial use. He accuses the government of diverting thousands of acres meant for industries and job creation. Full details here.

In a strong statement against alleged misuse of public resources, BRS working President KT Rama Rao declared that industrial land in Telangana will not be permitted for non-industrial purposes under any circumstances.

His remarks came during a visit to key industrial zones in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, where he criticised what he described as a dangerous shift in land use policy that could harm employment and industrial growth.

KTR expressed serious concern that more than 9,300 acres of industrial-designated land may be diverted for residential and commercial real estate, including apartments, villas, and private layouts.

“These lands belong to the people. They are meant for industries and jobs—not private profit,” he asserted.

Pricing Discrepancies Raise Further Questions

KTR highlighted a major controversy regarding land pricing:

  • Market rate in Jeedimetla: ₹1.5 lakh per sq. yard
  • Alleged transfer rate to private firms: ₹4,000 per sq. yard

He warned that such decisions could force existing industries to relocate, leading to:

  • Job losses
  • Loss of livelihood for thousands of workers
  • Economic instability in industrial belts

‘Congress Says No Land for Public Projects, Yet Thousands of Acres Are Being Allocated to Private Firms’

KTR criticised the government for claiming a lack of available land for:

  • Indiramma housing
  • Government schools
  • Hospitals
  • Burial grounds

Yet, he alleged, vast land parcels are being handed over to private companies instead.

He demanded that all such lands be reclaimed immediately and reallocated for public welfare, including affordable housing and educational projects under the Young India programme.

KTR: Restrict Land Use to Clean Industries Only

“If the Congress government is serious about development, they should reserve these lands strictly for clean industries—not for real estate,” KTR stated.

He claimed that BRS is preparing a comprehensive strategy to expose and fight what he termed a major land scam.

The BRS leader revealed multiple steps to intensify the movement:

  • All-party meeting
  • Public awareness campaigns
  • Discussions with civil society
  • Coordination with opposition groups
  • Legal action if needed

“Our struggle will continue until this policy is reversed and public lands worth lakhs of crores are protected,” he said.

Warning to Industrialists: ‘Do Not Get Trapped’

KTR issued a direct warning to industrialists and investors:

He cautioned that anyone who participates in what he calls “Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s land scam” may risk losing both their land and their investment.

He added that if BRS returns to power, the party will introduce new laws to prevent industrial land from ever being diverted to real estate again.
