Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted special checks on autos at Rang Mahal Junction, inspecting licenses, vehicle documents and overloading violations. Several drivers were counseled for unsafe driving practices.

Acting on the instructions of Hyderabad City Traffic Commissioner Joel Davis, the Sultan Bazaar Traffic Police conducted special checks on auto-rickshaws at Rang Mahal Junction on Thursday evening, December 4, 2025.

The enforcement drive focused on identifying traffic violations commonly seen among auto drivers, including overloading, missing documents, unsafe driving, and carrying passengers beyond the permitted limit.

Auto Drivers Checked for Documents and Safety Compliance

During the inspection, traffic officials thoroughly examined:

  • Driving licenses of auto drivers
  • Registration and insurance documents of autos
  • Overloading of passengers beyond permitted capacity
  • Autos carrying excessive goods
  • Drivers allowing another person to sit in the front seat, leading to unsafe driving

Police reported that autos violating these norms were stopped, and the drivers were counseled on road safety, passenger safety, and legal compliance.

Counselling Given to Drivers Violating Traffic Rules

Authorities stated that several auto drivers were educated about:

  • The dangers of overloading
  • The importance of valid driving documents
  • Maintaining discipline on busy city roads
  • Avoiding risky driving practices near junctions
  • Ensuring passenger safety as a priority

Officials emphasized that such counselling drives help reduce accidents and improve traffic flow in congested areas.

Senior Traffic Officials Supervised the Operation

The special drive was carried out under the supervision of:

  • Sultan Bazaar Traffic Inspector Balakrishna
  • SI Bharat
  • SI Jani Pasha
  • Traffic staff from the Sultan Bazaar division

Police confirmed that more such special drives will be conducted frequently to enforce discipline among auto drivers and ensure smooth traffic movement in central Hyderabad.
