An AIMIM MLA from Nampally alleged VIP treatment for murder accused Mujahed Alam in the Khwaja Moizuddin murder case and questioned police handling of the investigation.
Hyderabad: An All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen MLA Majid Hussain expressed anger over the alleged VIP treatment given to murder accused Mujahed Alam after his arrest in the murder case of Waqf activist Khwaja Moizuddin. Speaking to the media, Majid Hussain alleged that the accused was being provided mobile phone access, an air-conditioned room, sofas, and WhatsApp calling facilities during police investigation, raising questions over police handling of the case.

Majid Hussain Calls Khwaja Moizuddin a “Waqf Warrior”
During the media interaction, the Majid Hussain described Khwaja Moizuddin as a “Waqf warrior” and “Waqf protector.”
According to the Majid Hussain, Khwaja Moizuddin was fighting against alleged land grabbers and people accused of looting Waqf lands and properties.
He alleged that Khwaja Moizuddin had launched a struggle against people involved in encroaching on Waqf lands.
Allegations of VIP Treatment to Murder Accused
Majid Hussain alleged that after being brought to the police station, the accused persons were given VIP treatment.
He claimed:
“They are being seated in AC rooms with mobile phones and being given VIP treatment.”
Majid Hussain questioned why ordinary accused persons are allegedly treated differently.
He alleged that if an ordinary person were accused in a murder case, they would allegedly be chained and beaten, while the accused in this case were allegedly seated comfortably with access to phones.
Allegation of WhatsApp Calls During Investigation
Majid Hussain further alleged that the accused persons were making WhatsApp calls while inside police custody.
He questioned whether murder accused persons should be allowed such facilities during an active investigation.
Majid Hussain also questioned whether investigations are conducted by seating accused persons on sofas in air-conditioned rooms.
Questions Raised Over Congress Leader’s Statement
During the media address, Majid Hussain alleged that a Congress leader from Nampally publicly claimed that “we got him surrendered.”
He questioned whether police were incapable of arresting the accused themselves.
He further alleged that when he asked a police official whether a particular Congress leader had arranged the surrender, the officer denied it.
Allegations of Police Information Leak
Majid Hussain questioned how certain Congress leaders allegedly knew the exact timing of the accused being brought to the police station.
He alleged that sensitive police details regarding the movement of high-profile accused persons were being leaked.
He questioned whether people could trust the police if information about accused persons’ arrival and movement was allegedly being shared externally.
Demand for Arrest and Custodial Interrogation
Majid Hussain stated that the victim’s family and a person identified as Farhan had named:
- Mujahed Alam
- Mahboob Alam (father of Mujahed Alam)
He said both were named as accused number one and accused number two in the FIR.
Majid Hussain demanded their immediate arrest and custodial interrogation to uncover the complete truth behind the murder case.
He said police should investigate the case thoroughly and reach the root of the conspiracy.
MLA Majid Hussain Questions Equal Treatment Under Law
Majid Hussain questioned whether wealthy accused persons receive sofas and mobile phone access while poor accused persons are allegedly chained and beaten.
He stated:
“Law should be equal for everyone.”
He added that his purpose was not to interfere in the investigation but to demand fair treatment under the law.
MLA Majid Hussain Supports Victim’s Family
The AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain said he was standing with Farhan and the victim’s family not only as an MLA but also as a brother.
He stated that he personally knew Khwaja Moizuddin and described him as a supporter of poor people and a protector of Waqf properties.
Majid Hussain also questioned the silence of those who previously described themselves as Waqf protectors and social media activists.
He alleged that despite the “broad daylight murder” of Khwaja Moizuddin, many people remained silent for two days.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Majid Hussain stated that he still had faith in the police investigation but warned that alleged VIP treatment to murder accused persons could weaken public trust in the investigation process.
