In good news for job seekers and unemployed candidates in Telangana, the state government is preparing to fill 15,982 vacancies in Anganwadi centres across the state. The Department of Women and Child Development (ICDS) has already identified these vacancies under various ICDS projects in the districts.

Officials said that a notification for the recruitment of Anganwadi Teachers and Helpers will be issued soon. Recruitment notifications have already been released by the respective District Collectors for vacancies in Peddapalli and Mahabubnagar districts, and similar notifications are expected in all other districts shortly.
Telangana Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: New Selection Policy Introduced
The government is implementing a new policy for the selection of Anganwadi workers.
Unlike previous recruitment drives, Intermediate educational qualification along with an interview has now been made mandatory for the recruitment of Anganwadi Teacher and Anganwadi Helper posts.
The government has already granted permission to fill the vacancies under the revised selection process.
In this regard, the government has issued:
- GO No. 4
- GO No. 6
These Government Orders relate to the weightage of marks for the recruitment process.
Vacancies Identified Across Telangana
According to the details released, vacancies have been identified across both Multi Zone-I and Multi Zone-II regions.
Multi Zone-I Vacancies
- Total Anganwadi Centres: 20,584
- Vacant Teacher Posts: 1,853
- Vacant Assistant Posts: 7,737
Multi Zone-II Vacancies
- Total Anganwadi Centres: 15,197
- Vacant Teacher Posts: 1,247
- Vacant Assistant Posts: 5,145
The total identified vacancies across the state stand at 15,982.
Eligibility Criteria for Anganwadi Jobs
Locality Requirement
Candidates applying for the posts must be residents of the concerned village or ward.
Special Area Eligibility
For posts located in:
- Tribal Areas
- Adivasi Tandas
- Gudela
Only local SC/ST women candidates are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification
Candidates seeking to apply for Anganwadi Teacher and Helper posts must have passed Intermediate.
Selection Process and Interview Marks
The recruitment process will include interviews conducted under the supervision of the District Collector.

- Total Interview Marks: 10
The marks will be awarded based on the merit of the candidates.
Notifications Already Released in Peddapalli and Mahabubnagar
Officials stated that recruitment notifications for Anganwadi Teacher and Helper posts have already been issued in Peddapalli and Mahabubnagar districts by the respective District Collectors.
Similar recruitment advertisements are expected to be issued in all remaining districts soon.
