Hyderabad: AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to immediately stop the proposed relocation of the Guddimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market to Aziz Nagar in Ranga Reddy district. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Owaisi said the market serves people in South and West Hyderabad and warned that the proposed shift would affect the livelihood of nearly 10,000 families. He also alleged that the proposal violates the Market Act, 1966. No decision to stop the relocation has been announced so far.

Owaisi Appeals to CM Revanth Reddy
In his post, Owaisi wrote:
“Janab CM Revanth Reddy kindly immediately stop the proposed shifting of Guddimalkapur Vegetable & Flower to Aziz Nagar in RR District.”
He said the market caters to the people of South and West Hyderabad District and that shifting it would have a direct impact on the livelihood of nearly 10,000 families.
Claims Proposed Shift Violates Market Act, 1966
Owaisi alleged that the Chairman of the Market Committee wants to shift the market “for no reason.”
He also tagged @sjaju1 in his post and claimed that the proposed relocation is against the rules of the Market Act, 1966.
Market Was Shifted from Sabzi Mandi, Karwan in 1991
The Hyderabad MP pointed out that the market was previously shifted in 1991 from Sabzi Mandi, Karwan to Guddimalkapur in Hyderabad district.
He argued that the market has been serving residents of South and West Hyderabad since then.
Owaisi Raises Concern Over Shifting of Government Offices
Owaisi further stated that many government offices have been shifted from South and West Hyderabad during the last two years.
According to him, this is unjust and sends a wrong message.
He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene immediately and stop the proposed relocation of the Guddimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market.
