Minister Adluri Laxman Conducts Surprise Inspections at Gurukul Institutions, Orders Immediate Solution to Drinking Water Problem

Telangana Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar inspected TGSWREIS Gurukul institutions in Hyderabad and ordered immediate action to solve students' drinking water problem through the Mission Bhagiratha pipeline.

Hyderabad: Telangana Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Thursday conducted surprise inspections at three Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) institutions in Hyderabad. During the visit, he reviewed hostel facilities, classrooms, food quality, sanitation and drinking water supply. Taking serious note of students’ drinking water problems, the Minister directed the Ranga Reddy District Collector to provide a permanent drinking water connection through the Mission Bhagiratha pipeline and arrange alternative water supply until then.

Minister Inspects Three Gurukul Institutions

As part of the surprise inspection, the Minister visited:

  • Chaitanyapuri Women’s Law College, Hyderabad
  • Ibrahimpatnam Residential Degree College (RDC)
  • Saroor Nagar Girls Gurukul School

The inspections were conducted under the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS).

Students Raise Drinking Water Issue

The Minister interacted directly with students and sought details about:

  • Education
  • Hostel management
  • Food
  • Drinking water
  • Sanitation
  • Security
  • Teaching standards

Students informed the Minister that three educational institutions functioning on the same campus were facing difficulties in drinking water supply.

Taking immediate action, Adluri Laxman Kumar spoke to the Ranga Reddy District Collector over the phone and instructed officials to provide a permanent drinking water facility through the Mission Bhagiratha pipeline.

He also directed officials to make alternative arrangements until the permanent solution is completed and ensure that students do not face any inconvenience.

Hostels, Dining Hall and Classrooms Inspected

The Minister personally inspected:

  • Hostel rooms
  • Dining hall
  • Kitchen
  • Classrooms
  • Library
  • Laboratories
  • Toilets
  • Sanitation facilities

He also reviewed the quality of food, implementation of the prescribed menu, and cleanliness standards.

Students informed the Minister that they were being served quality and tasty food as per the approved menu.

Minister Urges Students to Report Problems

The Minister encouraged students to report any problem in their educational institutions without fear.

He said the opinions and suggestions of students are valuable to the government and help improve welfare measures.

Teachers Asked to Work with Commitment

Adluri Laxman Kumar also held a special meeting with teachers.

He said teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of students and urged them to work with dedication to uphold the trust parents place in Gurukul institutions.

Government Focused on Welfare of Dalit, Tribal and Weaker Sections

The Minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is giving the highest priority to the higher education of Dalit, Tribal and weaker section students.

He said the government is constructing modern integrated Gurukul educational institutions with advanced facilities to improve educational opportunities.

The Minister also recalled that the government has significantly increased diet charges and cosmetic charges to improve students’ living standards.

Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, he said equality in society can be achieved only through education.

He added that Gurukul institutions should become centres of social transformation and every teacher should serve students with dedication while guiding them towards higher goals.

Government Committed to Students’ Welfare

The Minister said the government is continuously monitoring every aspect related to students’ welfare.

He added that surprise inspections are being conducted with the objective of identifying problems and resolving them immediately.

Adluri Laxman Kumar said the government is committed to developing Gurukul institutions into model educational institutions in the country.
