Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the NHRC has sought details regarding the circumstances surrounding the police action. The commission has directed the authorities to provide CCTV footage recorded during the incident to assist in its inquiry.
The NHRC has also issued notices to the Delhi Police, directing them to submit a comprehensive report on the incident within two weeks.
