This is reportedly the first time since the beginning of the current monsoon season that widespread rainfall has resulted in significant inflows into major dams and reservoirs across Telangana. The increased water availability has raised hopes among farmers for a better agricultural season.

Farmers said that if the rainfall continues over the next few days, water availability for irrigation is likely to improve. They also expect the rains to help recharge groundwater levels and contribute to higher agricultural production.

Meanwhile, the weather department has forecast further rainfall in several districts of Telangana over the next two to three days. Officials and experts believe that continued rainfall could lead to a further increase in inflows into other reservoirs and dams across the state, helping meet irrigation and drinking water requirements.
