Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 1.136 kg of suspected methamphetamine, estimated to be worth approximately ₹1.1 crore, from a passenger bus travelling from Bhopal to Hyderabad.

Acting on specific intelligence, officers of the DRI’s Hyderabad Zonal Unit (HZU) searched the bus and recovered four packets of the suspected narcotic substance concealed beneath the mattresses of sleeper berths.

According to preliminary enquiries, the passengers occupying the berths where the packets were found had boarded the bus in Bhopal and got off at Nagpur.

The recovery has raised suspicions about the possible use of interstate passenger transport services to move narcotic substances. However, the identities and roles of the passengers concerned have not been established.
