Akhilesh elected leader of SP legislature party

"The proposal to elect Akhilesh as the leader of the SP Legislature Party was moved by Lalji Verma and seconded by sitting MLC Rajendra Chaudhary," Patel said.

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was on Saturday unanimously elected the leader of its Legislature Party in Uttar Pradesh.

State unit President Naresh Uttam Patel announced the decision.

He said the proposal to elect Akhilesh Yadav as the leader of the MLA group was proposed by senior MLA Awadhesh Prasad, seconded by Alam Badi and supported by all the MLAs.

“The proposal to elect Akhilesh as the leader of the SP Legislature Party was moved by Lalji Verma and seconded by sitting MLC Rajendra Chaudhary,” Patel said.

At the meeting, Akhilesh Yadav expressed gratitude towards the people of Uttar Pradesh who supported the SP.

He said that on March 28 another meeting will be held with all SP allies including Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) and others who contested on the symbol of the party, including Shivpal Singh Yadav.
