Devotees throng Hyd’s ‘Shrine of our Lady of Health’

Hyderabad : A large number of devotees braved inclement weather here in Telangana to attend the annual Mother Mary’s feast at the “Shrine of Our Lady of Health”, Asia’s biggest octagonal church.
Located in the AC guards area of the city here, a procession carrying Mother Mary’s statue will be taken out later in the day bringing the annual feast that began on August 29 to an end on Thursday.

The festivities so far have been flag hoisting at the church, midnight mass followed by birthday mass and pontifical high mass which was led by Archbishop of Hyderabad Cardinal Poola Anthony.
The areas in the vicinity of the church wore a carnival look as a large number of stalls selling flowers, candles, fruits and other paraphernalia were set up.
