Kadapa: A woman had reached Badvel of Kadapa from Gujarat to marry a Muslim man. However, she was counselled by the police in the presence of the family members of the two and was sent back.
The woman named Miraj met Sohail on Instagram three months ago. As both families decided not to perform the marriage, the girl reached Kadapa to tie knot with Sohail.
However, BJP leaders from Gujarat and Delhi alerted the party leaders in Kadapa who intervened. They stopped the marriage by speaking to the families of the two in the presence of the police.
They sought Kadapa BJP president C Yella Reddy’s help over the “disappearance” of the Hindu girl. BJP AP co-incharge Sunil Deodhar spoke to Badvel Urban CI Venkata Subbaiah. He convened a meeting with both the parents at the police station on Friday.
Convincing the girl that she could not live with Sohail, her parents compelled her to return home.
Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju hailed Sunil Deodhar and Yella Reddy role in the matter.
