Hyderabad: Sri Vidya, a female conductor from the Bandlaguda depot in Hyderabad, tragically ended her life by consuming sleeping pills. She had taken the pills two days prior to this unfortunate event.
Following this, her family rushed her to the hospital, where, despite medical efforts, she passed away.
The General Secretary of the RTC Employees Union, Raji Reddy, expressed profound sorrow over the loss of this dedicated lady conductor. He asserted that Srividya’s decision to take such a drastic step was a result of harassment by RTC officials.
Mr. Reddy firmly cautioned that unless the authorities ceased their mistreatment of workers, there would be a protest. He urged the Managing Director of RTC to step in, conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, and ensure that appropriate action is taken against those responsible.
