Hyderabad: Rowdy Sheeter Zafar Pahelwan Taken into Custody by City Police
Hyderabad police apprehended the notorious rowdy sheeter, Hamza bin Omer, known by his alias Zafar Pahelwan, on Monday.
Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Hyderabad police apprehended the notorious rowdy sheeter, Hamza bin Omer, known by his alias Zafar Pahelwan, on Monday, regarding his alleged involvement in a case registered at Saifabad police station last month.
The incident in question transpired during a wrestling tournament held at LB Stadium last month, where two rival groups, one led by Zafar Pahelwan and the other by Salem Pahelwan, clashed following a dispute.
As a result of Salem’s complaint, the police registered a case against Zafar and others under sections 325, 324, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, citing grievous injuries and criminal intimidation.
The Saifabad police, in collaboration with the commissioner’s task force team, apprehended Zafar Pahelwan while he was attending a funeral in Azampura.
He was issued a notice under section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in connection with the case.
Additionally, the police placed him under a good conduct bond and cautioned him against engaging in any unlawful activities, particularly in the run-up to the forthcoming elections.
Zafar Pahelwan has a long history of legal trouble, with cases dating back to 1982 recorded against him in the Rein Bazaar police station.
Notably, he was previously employed as a constable at CPL Amberpet but was subsequently dismissed from service due to his involvement in criminal activities.
Despite his controversial past, Zafar Pahelwan has remained associated with the AIMIM and even served as a corporator for the party.
