India Issues Advisory for Nationals in Israel Amidst Escalating Conflict

On October 7th, India issued an advisory for its citizens in Israel, urging them to stay vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines. This advisory comes in response to a significant attack by Hamas on Israel, marked by gunmen crossing the border and a barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. As a result, 22 Israelis lost their lives in this unexpected assault, as reported by Israel’s N12 News, citing the Israeli ambulance service.

In retaliation, Israel initiated ‘Operation Iron Swords’, utilizing fighter jets to conduct airstrikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the advisory, the Indian embassy in Israel, through a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stated, “Given the current situation in Israel, we urge all Indian nationals in the region to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols as advised by local authorities. Please exercise caution, limit unnecessary movement, and seek shelter as needed.
