Job Training Fraud Case: Goshamahal Police Nab Accused

Goshamahal Police caution the general public to remain vigilant against fraudsters offering fake jobs, training, recruitment, or Defence Academy admissions through social media platforms (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook)

Hyderabad : The Goshamahal Police Station, Hyderabad City, has apprehended one (01) accused person involved in a job/training fraud case registered under Crime No. 259/2026 U/s 318(4) BNS.

On 19-07-2026 at about 19:00 hours, the complainant, Pokala Vaishnavi, lodged a report at Goshamahal Police Station stating that in the year 2025, she got acquainted with the accused, Chakali Praveen Kumar, through Instagram regarding job and training opportunities.

The accused persuaded her by promising employment and visited her residence on 22-02-2025, collecting ₹1,50,000 under the pretext of training fees after executing a bond paper. Subsequently, in May 2025, he collected ₹50,000 for document verification. Later, on 09-07-2025, he demanded ₹25,000 for generating a DD ID, which was transferred online by the complainant. In total, the accused induced and fraudulently collected ₹2,25,000 from the complainant under false promises of providing training and jobs, and thereafter stopped responding to her calls and evaded contact.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered in Cr. No. 259/2026 U/s 318(4) BNS. During the course of investigation, on 29-08-2026, on credible information, the Investigating Officer (IO) deputed staff who apprehended the accused at Nandharkannpet, Shabad Mandal at about 18:00 hours. On interrogation, he voluntarily confessed to his involvement in the offence. He was formally arrested at 21:30 hours and remanded to judicial custody.

Verify Credentials: Verify the registration and credentials of any academy or institution before making any payment.

Avoid Unknown Transfers: Do not transfer money to unknown persons based solely on social media offers.

Protect Personal Data: Do not share personal identification documents, bank credentials, OTPs, or passwords.

Demand Receipts: Always demand valid official receipts and legal documentation for any transaction.

Preserve Evidence: Save all digital communication, payment receipts, screenshots, and numbers in case of suspected fraud.

Report Fraud: Anyone cheated by the accused or having information about similar frauds is requested to contact Goshamahal Police Station or the nearest police station immediately.
