Malakpet Congress Candidate Urges Action Against Circle Inspector Over Alleged AIMIM Favoritism

Hyderabad: Shaik Akbar, the Congress candidate for the Malakpet Assembly constituency, has lodged a complaint urging immediate action against Chaderghat Circle Inspector Prakash Reddy. Akbar alleges that Reddy obstructed him from interacting with the public after Friday prayers, accusing the officer of displaying favoritism towards the AIMIM candidate.

In a formal letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad, Akbar detailed the incident where he was purportedly halted from engaging with people outside Masjid Osmania in Malakpet on Friday. He asserted that during the Friday sermon, the mosque’s imam openly praised AIMIM, advocating for the re-election of AIMIM MLA Ahmed Balala.

According to Akbar, after the prayer concluded, he attempted to meet residents outside the mosque, refraining from distributing pamphlets. However, he claims that he and his supporters were not only insulted but also instructed to leave the mosque vicinity by the Chaderghat Circle Inspector, as captured in a video of the incident.

Furthermore, Akbar alleged that AIMIM supporters were actively campaigning in and around the mosque, but Inspector Prakash Reddy purportedly ignored their activities while berating Akbar. Denouncing the actions of the Circle Inspector, Akbar has formally requested the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police for immediate intervention against Prakash Reddy.
