Mass Yoga performace by Divyangjan across India creates history
For the first time in the history 20,000 Divyangjan across India at various locations and 3000 Divyangjan at Kanha wellness centre, Hyderabad took part in the mass Yoga movement.
Hyderabad: Mass Yoga Performance by DIVYANGJAN from across India on 21st June 2023 creating history for the first time /Department created three records viz., International World Book of Records, Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for the maximum number of Divyangjan performing Mass Yoga.
For the first time in the history 20,000 Divyangjan across India at various locations and 3000 Divyangjan at Kanha wellness centre, Hyderabad took part in the mass Yoga movement visioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
3000 Persons with Disabilities such as Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Locomotors Disability, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Thalassemia etc. from across the country performed Mass Yoga on 21st June – 2023 in the event organised by Dept. of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in coordination with National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Secunderabad at the “Kanha Wellness Centre, Kanha Village, Rangareddy District, Telangana – 5000 325.
Honourable Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India graced the event as “Chief Guest” in this Mass Yoga performance by Divyangjan and stated thattoday Yoga is being practiced simultaneously across the country.
All the National Institutes and Composite Regional Centres of the Department are also conducting webinars for creating awareness on benefits of Yoga and adapted yoga for Divyangjan.
He stated that Divyangjan from 16 states, Delhi to Kerala and Gujarat to West Bengal have come all the way to participate in this mega event. He also stated that it is overwhelming to see 3000 Divyangjan performing yoga under one roof with so much of enthusiasm and zeal.
“It is indeed a moment of pride for India, for yoga is now embraced and acknowledged by the entire world. Yoga is a self-healing practice and helps to build energy to work and stay active for a long time. It is very beneficial for Divyangjan” opined by the Hon’ble Minister.
Honourable Minister of State, Shri A. Narayan Swamy emphasized on Yoga bringing harmony and inclusivity in the society..
He urged all people to be sensitive and recognise the abilities of Divyangjan. “Let’s all take pride in our legacy and show a new vision to be part of Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam” said by Sh. A. Narayanswamy.
The Hon’ble Ministers met each and every Divyangjan and sat amidst them to perform yoga for the entire 45 minutes.
During the event 200 beneficiaries were given away TLM kits and Aids and Appliances free of cost under ADIP scheme of the Department.
This mega event has been evaluated by the concerned authorities and the Department has begged three records namely, International World Book of Records, Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for the maximum number of Divyangjan performing Yoga
The online live message of Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Vice President injected more enthusiasm amongst the Divyangjan in performing Yoga.
All the participants were issued certificates after completion of the event.
