Muharram 2026 Arrangements Reviewed at Darussalam; AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain Urges Officials to Complete All Works Muharram

Muharram 2026 arrangements were reviewed at Darussalam in Hyderabad. AIMIM Nampally MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain directed officials to complete all Ashoorkhana, water supply, sanitation, electricity, and street lighting works before 7th–9th Muharram.

Preparations for the upcoming Islamic holy month of Muharram 2026 were reviewed during a high-level meeting held at the AIMIM Party Head Office, Darussalam, Hyderabad. AIMIM Nampally MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain, along with other MLAs, MLCs, GHMC officials, department representatives, and party workers, discussed the arrangements required at Ashoorkhanas and directed officials to complete all pending works before Muharram.

Addressing the meeting, Mohammed Majid Hussain said that every year Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) convenes a meeting at Darussalam to ensure that all arrangements related to Ashoorkhanas are completed and that maximum facilities are provided to devotees and visitors during Muharram.

Focus on Four Major Ashoorkhanas in Nampally

The Nampally MLA said that four major Ashoorkhanas fall within his constituency and stressed that restoration works at all these sites should be completed in full before Muharram.

He appealed to all officials of the Golconda Zone, including engineers, Water Works officials, electricity department personnel, and other concerned departments, to ensure that every pending work is completed before the beginning of Muharram.

Majid Hussain said that he would continue to coordinate with party leaders including Shakeel Bhai and Shabbir and remain in touch with office-bearers and Ashoorkhana committees to monitor the arrangements.

Water Tankers Must Be Provided as Per Requirement

Referring to water supply arrangements, the MLA noted that mosques have faced difficulties regarding water tankers because of new rules during the summer season. However, he stressed that during Muharram, adequate water tanker arrangements must be ensured.

He specifically directed officials to provide water tankers to the four Ashoorkhanas in the Nampally constituency according to the requirement communicated by the local organizers.

The MLA said officials should not determine the number of tankers on their own but should provide one tanker where one is needed and two tankers where two are required. He emphasized that arrangements must be made based on the expected number of visitors and devotees attending the events.

Electricity and Lighting Arrangements Reviewed

The MLA also requested the electricity department to ensure that all temporary power connections, poles, and lighting arrangements required at Ashoorkhanas are completed well before Muharram.

He said electricity-related works that are usually taken up at the last moment should be completed in advance to avoid inconvenience during the observances.

Last Year’s Works Completed Before 10th Muharram

Majid Hussain stated that, based on representations made by AIMIM last year, all four Ashoorkhanas in the Nampally constituency received the required facilities and works were completed before the 10th of Muharram.

He expressed confidence that this year too all departments would complete the works ahead of schedule.

Sanitation and Road Maintenance Priority

The MLA directed GHMC and sanitation officials to maintain complete cleanliness around Ashoorkhanas and on all roads leading to the religious sites.

He urged officials to adopt a proactive approach and ensure that sanitation works are carried out continuously before and during Muharram.

According to him, AIMIM representatives would remain in the field to monitor arrangements and coordinate with officials whenever necessary.

AIMIM Seeks Smooth Arrangements for Devotees

Majid Hussain said the objective of AIMIM is to ensure that all visitors and devotees attending Muharram programs receive proper facilities and face no inconvenience.

He stated that party representatives do not want any situation where officials face criticism from the public, nor do they want any unpleasant interactions with officials. He added that any issues raised by AIMIM representatives would only be to ensure that public expectations are met.

The MLA urged officials to work together with elected representatives to meet the expectations of the public and complete all works within the stipulated time.

Deadline Before 7th and 9th Muharram

The MLA said that instructions had been received to continuously monitor Muharram arrangements and identify pending works in advance.

He stated that AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi had clearly directed that there should be no negligence in Muharram arrangements. Because of this, he said, both elected representatives and officials were under responsibility to ensure smooth conduct of the observances.

Majid Hussain urged all departments, including Water Works, Municipal Administration, Sanitation, Electricity, and Street Lighting, to complete their works before the 7th or 9th of Muharram.

He said it would be preferable if all works were completed at least five days in advance, as this would reduce pressure on officials and allow enough time to address any remaining issues.

The MLA warned that questions would arise if arrangements remained incomplete after the deadline and advised officials to ensure that every pending work is finished before Muharram begins.

During the Muharram 2026 arrangements review meeting at Darussalam, AIMIM Nampally MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain, along with MLAs, MLCs, GHMC officials, department representatives, and party workers, called for the completion of all restoration, water supply, sanitation, electricity, street lighting, and infrastructure works at Ashoorkhanas before the 7th–9th of Muharram. He emphasized that adequate facilities must be provided to devotees and that no negligence in Muharram arrangements would be tolerated.
