Chennai: The Khelo India Youth Games Swimming Championship 2023, a spectacular showcase of talent and determination, concluded on a high note at the aquatic center in Chennai. From January 27th to 31st, young swimmers from across the country competed fiercely in various events, breaking records and leaving spectators in awe.
In the Women’s 200m Backstroke Final, it was Palak Ashutosh Joshi from Maharashtra who stole the spotlight with an impressive performance, clinching the gold medal with a time of 2:18.59. Sri Nithya Sagi from Telangana secured the silver with a time of 2:25.83, closely followed by Naisha from Karnataka, who took home the bronze with a time of 2:25.98.
The Men’s 200m Backstroke event witnessed intense competition, with Nithik Nathella from Tamil Nadu emerging as the champion, clocking in at 2:04.60. Rishabh Anupam Das from Maharashtra claimed the silver medal with a time of 2:05.19, while Akash Mani from Karnataka secured the bronze with a time of 2:07.25.
The Men’s 800m Freestyle event showcased remarkable endurance and skill. Mongam Theerdu Samadev from Andhra Pradesh clinched the gold medal, completing the race in 8:29.77. Right on his heels, Gotteti Sampath Kumar Yadav, also from Andhra Pradesh, secured the silver with a time of 8:29.86. Dharshan S from Karnataka claimed the bronze with a time of 8:39.89.
