Saudi Arabia Declares Its Stand On Palestine-Israel Conflict

Riyadh: In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman assured Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas of his commitment to preventing further escalation of conflict following the unexpected Hamas attack on Israel. The Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of rightful living conditions, aspirations, and a just, enduring peace. As Israel grapples with the unprecedented assault by the Palestinian Islamist group, the death toll has risen to 800, with retaliatory strikes in Gaza claiming 687 lives.

Amid speculations regarding a potential normalization of ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel, contingent on security assurances from the United States and assistance in developing a civilian nuclear program, Prince Mohammed emphasized the paramount importance of the Palestinian cause for Saudi Arabia, home to Islam’s holiest sites in Makkah and Madina. “We need to address this issue and improve the lives of the Palestinians,” stated Prince Mohammed.

Additionally, Prince Mohammed communicated about the crisis with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II via phone, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
