Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict on granting environmental clearances for Telangana irrigation projects, stating that the judgment has paved the way for the Sitarama Sagar Project in Khammam district. According to the Minister, the project will be able to store 36.37 TMC of water, provide irrigation to 6.74 lakh acres, and generate 282.80 MW of electricity. He also thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and officials for their efforts in securing environmental clearances. The project has received a major boost following the Supreme Court verdict.
