Telangana High Court Orders Arrest of Finance Secretary Sandeep Sulthania in Contempt Case
The Telangana High Court has issued a bailable warrant against Finance Department Secretary Sandeep Sulthania in a contempt of court case over the alleged non-compliance with its earlier orders regarding the release of funds to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has issued a bailable warrant against Finance Department Secretary Sandeep Sulthania in a contempt of court case over the alleged non-compliance with its earlier orders regarding the release of funds to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board.
According to court proceedings, the High Court had directed the state government in 2024 to release Rs. 33.42 crore to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board. However, the amount was allegedly not released, and Finance Secretary Sandeep Sulthania also failed to respond despite being served with two notices by the court.
Taking serious note of the non-compliance, the High Court directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner to execute the bailable warrant, arrest Sandeep Sulthania wherever he is found, and produce him before the court at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

The court further ordered that the Finance Secretary must remain present before the High Court on every adjournment of the case until further orders are issued.
The case pertains to alleged contempt of court for failing to implement the High Court’s directions, with the matter expected to come up for further hearing after the Finance Secretary’s appearance.
