Hyderabad Traffic Police Conduct School Bus Safety Drive in Rajendranagar, Schools Directed to Follow Transport Safety Norms

Rajendranagar Traffic Police conducted a comprehensive school bus safety verification drive in Hyderabad under the directions of DCP Traffic-III Sri Rahul Hegde, IPS. Schools were instructed to rectify deficiencies and strictly follow transport safety norms.

Following the directives of Sri Rahul Hegde, IPS, DCP Traffic-III, the Rajendranagar Traffic Police conducted a comprehensive traffic safety verification drive across private schools under the limits of Rajendranagar Traffic Police Station in Hyderabad on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The inspection, led by CH. Raju, SHO, Rajendranagar Traffic PS, along with Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), focused on school transport safety, traffic management, and compliance with transport safety norms. School managements have been instructed to rectify deficiencies and strictly follow safety regulations.

Traffic Safety Verification Drive Conducted in Rajendranagar

The traffic safety verification drive was conducted under the directions of Sri Rahul Hegde, IPS, DCP Traffic-III.

The inspection was carried out by CH. Raju, SHO, Rajendranagar Traffic Police Station, along with a team of deputed Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs).

According to the police, the initiative aims to ensure the highest standards of safety for school children during their daily transit and to streamline traffic management around educational institutions.

School Bus Drivers and Vehicle Documents Verified

During the inspection, the traffic police team verified:

  • Driving licences of school bus drivers.
  • Fitness Certificates (FC).
  • Registration Certificates (RC).
  • Insurance documents.
  • Pollution certificates.

The verification was carried out to ensure compliance with transport safety regulations.

Parking, Boarding Points and Road Safety Committees Inspected

The police also inspected and verified:

  • Availability of designated parking areas.
  • Boarding and de-boarding points to ensure they are safely located inside or outside the school premises.
  • Constitution and day-to-day functioning of Road Safety Committees within schools.

Traffic Management During School Hours Reviewed

The inspection team monitored the traffic regulation duties performed by school staff during peak school opening and closing hours to prevent congestion on main roads.

Following the inspection, strict instructions were issued to school managements to:

  • Promptly rectify any observed deficiencies.
  • Strictly adhere to transport safety norms.
