SCCL Invites Applications for ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham’; ₹1 Lakh Aid for Telangana UPSC Mains Aspirants
He said every eligible candidate from Telangana who has cleared the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination and is qualified to appear for the Main Examination can apply online for the financial assistance. Hyderabad: In a major boost for Civil Services aspirants in Telangana, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has invited online applications for the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham’ scheme, under which eligible candidates who have qualified the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 will receive financial assistance of ₹1 lakh to prepare for the Main Examination.
Announcing the scheme on Saturday, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti said the initiative is being continued this year as well in accordance with the directions of the Telangana Government.
He said every eligible candidate from Telangana who has cleared the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination and is qualified to appear for the Main Examination can apply online for the financial assistance. After verification of the applications, ₹1 lakh will be transferred to each eligible applicant.
Candidates can submit their applications online through the official SCCL website. Detailed eligibility guidelines and the application process are available on the portal.
Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti expressed confidence that more youth from Telangana would make effective use of the financial support and achieve success in the Civil Services, enabling them to contribute to both the State and the Nation.
346 Aspirants Benefited in Two Years
The SCCL CMD said the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme was launched in 2024 as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives following directions from the Telangana Government. The scheme was formally launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
During the 2024 Civil Services Examination, financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each was provided to 140 candidates who qualified for the Preliminary Examination. Of them, 20 candidates advanced to the Interview (Personality Test) stage and received an additional ₹1 lakh each. Ultimately, seven candidates were selected for the Civil Services.
In 2025, another 206 aspirants received financial assistance under the scheme. Among them, 50 candidates qualified for the Interview stage, while 20 candidates secured final selection in the Civil Services.
Overall, 346 Civil Services aspirants have benefited from the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme over the last two years, reflecting SCCL’s commitment to supporting talented youth from Telangana in achieving success in one of the country’s most competitive examinations.
